About Make-A-Wish
A wish is more than a nice to have – it’s an integral part of a child’s treatment journey.
A wish gives the sick child and their family the strength to face the devastating journey ahead of them. Wishes provide relief and hope, helping the family focus on something other than pain, fear and uncertainty even if just for one happy moment.
Wishes are treatment and are essential to improve the health outcomes of children with critical illnesses. Healthcare cannot always change the outcome for a sick child but a wish will always improve the journey and must be included alongside the medical care of every sick child.
A wish strengthens not only the children and parents facing critical illness but everyone connected to that child: their siblings and extended family, their teachers and classmates, their care team, volunteers, donors, and the broader community. When you start a fundraiser, you are part of a community creating connection, inspiring imagination, and empowering action for so many people from coast-to-coast.
