Fortis is a privately owned company based out of Saskatoon, SK. that provides mining, engineering, and manufacturing services to the mining and construction industries. The company has a global focus that offers contracting, subcontracting, and consulting services to a wide range of customers.

We have an immediate need for highly motivated, safety-conscious Crane Operators. The Crane Operator’s primary responsibilities include operating of overhead crane to lift, move, position, or place machinery, equipment, and other large objects on site. Must be Crane Operator Journeyperson with applicable qualifications and training to operate 60 tonne overhead crane.

Project Details:

  • 14/7 schedule; 10-hour days
  • Camp job; located on mine site ~2 hours east of Saskatoon

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Safely operate hoisting and overhead crane equipment
  • Ensure equipment is operated and maintained to maximum productivity and efficiency
  • Load/unload materials and equipment as requested
  • Perform scheduled maintenance on equipment as required
  • Perform work in a safe and efficient manner
  • Must be physically fit and able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Commitment to working safely and following safety protocol
  • Ability to operator required tools and equipment in a safe and responsible manner
  • Ability to follow instructions
  • Ability to work alone or in a team environment
  • All other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must provide Journeyperson Certification with capability to operate 60 tonne (60,000kg) overheard crane
  • Experience in mining, equipment operating, or other industrial/construction fields considered an asset
  • Valid forklift, skidsteer, and telehandler certificate considered an asset
  • Any safety-related training and certificates would be beneficial, but not required
