Memorandum of Understanding Supports Deployment of Advanced Reactors in Canada and Globally
Saskatoon, March 6, 2025 – Northern Strands Group of Companies and Westinghouse Electric Company announced today that they have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to supportAP1000® and AP300™ projects in Canada and around the world.
The MoU establishes the potential for Northern Strands Group of Companies to manufacture key components for Westinghouse’s advanced reactors including steel and modular structures, custom steel fabricated pieces, pressure piping, machined elements and specialized rigging.
Owned by Canadian energy powerhouses Brookfield and Cameco, Westinghouse is the only nuclear vendor with an advanced, proven and fully operational Generation III+ reactor technology that is ready to be deployed in Canada and generate electricity by as early as 2035.
