Fortis is a privately owned company based out of Saskatoon, SK. that provides mining, engineering, and manufacturing services to the mining and construction industries. The company has a global focus that offers contracting, subcontracting, and consulting services to a wide range of customers.

We have an immediate need for highly motivated, safety-conscious Millwrights. The Millwright’s primary responsibilities include installing or dismantling machinery and equipment according to equipment diagrams & specs, blueprints, and other diagrams. This position also requires that the Millwright troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, or pneumatic problems with associated equipment. Quality work and timely completion of all aspects of work performed is required.

Project Details:

  • 14/7 schedule; 10-hour days
  • Camp job; located on mine site ~2 hours east of Saskatoon.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Hands on experience with construction equipment and machinery
  • Assembling new industrial and construction equipment
  • Experience with large rotating equipment
  • Utilizing specialized tools such as torque multipliers
  • Operator hoisting and lifting devices
  • Aligning equipment using specialized tools
  • Identifying differences in dimensions and shapes of components
  • Demonstrate aptitude in reviewing and following highly technical and complex machinery or equipment manuals
  • Must be physically fit and able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Commitment to working safely and following safety protocol
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to follow instructions
  • Ability to use judgement and apply discretion when making decisions
  • Ability to work alone or in a team environment
  • Strong time-management skills

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must provide proof of Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Journeyperson Certificate or Apprentice level status; qualified Journeyperson preferred, willing to consider apprentice
  • Experience in moving, assembling, disassembling, troubleshooting, and repairing various types of machinery and equipment
  • Experience in high-quality inspections, repairs, and maintenance of mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment on-site and commissioning would be an asset
  • Any safety-related training and certificates would be beneficial, but not required
